ACHI Magazine's Choreographer of the Year Nominee

MieLecia (Mieley) Martin

MieLecia is a professionally trained ballet, jazz, hip hop, and modern dancer. Attending The Cleveland School of the Arts in 2001, MieLecia majored in dance for seven years while training simultaneously with Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre, Foluke' Cultural Arts Center and The Urban Dance Collective.


MieLecia joined the collegiate dance team at Indiana Institute of Technology and won First Place in Hip Hop at Cheer Ltd. Nationals at Canaam in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2009. During her junior year of college, MieLecia began training with the Fort Wayne Ballet and in 2013, started teaching hip hop and jazz at Shekinah Dance Academy. After graduating from Indiana Tech, MieLecia moved to Chicago where she trained at Dance Connections while teaching ballet and jazz at Schilller Park Rec Center.


In 2016, MieLecia relocated to Atlanta, GA and began teaching hip hop in Roswell, GA. After being recruited by Smyrna Dancers, MieLecia began training over 200 students a week in hip hop, advanced ballet, and jazz. Her competitive jazz team won Double Platinum at Applause Talent Competition and High Gold at Hall of Fame Dance Competition in Spring 2017. The team also won Best Broadway Diva, an achievement and choreography award given to select teams for outstanding performances. MieLecia founded EPIC Dance Co. in the fall of 2017 to continue providing exceptional dance training to her students.
